The intralogistics group Mecalux has implemented its Easy WMS warehouse management system in a second facility belonging to the industrial service company WISAG in the town of Krefeld. The German organization — one of the country’s largest providers — has digitalized its logistics operations to offer its clients the best service and effective product control.
Mecalux’s Easy WMS syncs WISAG’s warehouses with its users’ manufacturing areas. This integration enables it to supply clients with the semi-finished items they need when required. “We adapt to the particular needs of each sector, ensuring an optimal flow of materials. Our priority is to manage our clients’ goods with maximum efficiency,” says Michael Lederer, Managing Director at WISAG Logistics Solutions.
WISAG has recently implemented the Mecalux software in a second Krefeld facility, charged with providing customised logistics services, following an initial deployment in a warehouse in the same city. The program monitors over 10,000 SKUs in real time, considering each client’s storage and distribution requirements and the characteristics of their products. Additionally, the software applies temporary storage and cross-docking strategies.
Logistics: driving industry forward
WISAG and Mecalux share the same vision; they see logistics “as the driving force behind an industry’s success.” Therefore, to avoid delivery errors, WISAG has installed Multi-Carrier Shipping Software. This Easy WMS module manages product packaging, labelling and personalised shipping processes, syncing them with carriers. Likewise, WISAG has incorporated the WMS for 3PL module, designed for third-party logistics service providers. “Sound logistics management is based on process optimisation. By closely following Easy WMS’s instructions, our operators travel the shortest distances through the warehouse. As a result, product shipments are faster,” says Lederer.
