QAD Precision Global Trade and Transportation Execution 18.1 includes Import Management and Microservices offerings.
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — July 14, 2020 — QAD Precision, an industry-leading provider of global trade management and transportation execution software, has announced the release of QAD Precision 18.1, the next-generation version of its global trade and shipping software. QAD Precision is a division of QAD Inc.
“QAD Precision 18.1 includes our new import management solution, which offers an array of specialized tools to execute critical import activities and help companies comply with complex trade laws and regulations, including free trade agreement compliance,” said QAD Precision President Corey Rhodes.
This release provides the solution’s delivery exception management (DEM) and freight bill audit and pay (FBAP) as microservices, a variant of the service-oriented architecture structural style that separates new modules into individual services that can interact with each other and the core Web UI. This new architecture allows for distributed deployment, making it easier to configure the solution to match customer business needs and offering significant benefits with regard to scalability, updates and improved performance.
DEM provides a centralized location with 360-degree visibility into inbound and outbound shipments. It also transmits exception alerts for packages at risk of missing scheduled delivery dates. FBAP helps organizations identify consolidation opportunities and automates the auditing of invoices. The solution can process, check and reconcile high volume carrier invoices that are hundreds of pages long and include tens of thousands of line items.
“With every new release, we aim to provide more value for our customers, whether that is through reducing transportation spend, leveraging free trade agreements, or compressing cumulative lead times, as well as enabling them to conduct import and export operations cost-effectively, efficiently and compliantly,” added Rhodes.
